Saint-Palais-sur-Mer is ideally located in the Charente-Maritime region, between La Palmyre and Royan and close to all the tourist attractions such as the beaches, La Palmyre Zoo and small villages like Mornac-sur-Seudre and Talmont-sur-Gironde.
During your stay at camping Saint-Palais-sur-Mer, forget the car! You’ll enjoy a vacation without worrying about parking or traffic jams, as everything from the campsite is within walking distance.
The beaches and shops of Saint-Palais-sur-Mer town center are just 600 metres from the campsite. So you can do your shopping at the market and in the village shops without taking your car. In Saint-Palais-sur-Mer you’ll find bakeries, butchers, bar-restaurants, newsagents and a host of small stores. There’s also a supermarket just a stone’s throw from the campsite.
The Chemin des douaniers, which runs along the beaches from Saint-Palais-sur-Mer to Royan or from Saint-Palais-sur-Mer to La Palmyre, is less than 10 minutes’ walk from the 5-star Camping des 2 Plages. Cycle paths are just a 2-minute bike ride from the campsite entrance.
Royan and La Palmyre are easily accessible by bike from the seaside, or by bus from the Royannais region.

From the campsite, it’s a short walk to the village market. There you’ll find typical Charente-Maritime produce, including the famous Charentais melon, Marennes-Oléron oysters and fresh fish from the Cotinière or Royan fish markets. A morning stroll will take you past the central beach of Saint-Palais-sur-Mer.
In the town center, you’ll find the cycle path, restaurants, stores… and, above all, something to cool off with an ice cream on the central Saint-Palais-sur-Mer beach. Saint-Palais also offers shows, concerts, family activities and night markets. On the beach near the campsite, entertainment and swimming clubs will delight your children.

Just a 10-minute walk from the campsite, you’ll find the Saint-Palais-sur-Mer covered market, open every day of the year. This market is packed with products from the Charente region, including oysters and mussels from Marennes-Oléron, fresh fish from the Cotinière and Royan fish auctions, and the inevitable melon with pineau des Charentes.
The 2 markets of Saint-Palais-sur-Mer are 600 metres from the campsite:
- Next to the beach in the town center (Place de l’Océan), on Mondays you’ll find the Charentais terroir market, and on Fridays, the arts and crafts market featuring local Royan merchants.
- On Mondays, the Nauzan promenade along the beaches of Saint-Palais-sur-Mer and Vaux-sur-Mer hosts a night market featuring products from the Charente region.
In Royan, you’ll find the second most beautiful market in France in 2018, 15 minutes from the campsite. Inside, you’ll find all the products you need to concoct delicious local and Charentais dishes.
In the late afternoon, return to your campsite and relax in our spa or in the heart of your rental and enjoy our heated swimming pool or water park with your family or friends.
