Royan… A beautiful town next to the campsite
On the Atlantic side of Charente-Maritime, you’ll find the Grande Conche, Royan’s long beach, with its pedestrian stroll along the beach stores, its sand games and the smell of sun cream… On the town side, modernist seaside architecture, as cheerful and luminous as a ray of sunshine… All within easy reach of the Royan campsite.
Just 600 m from the campsite in St Palais sur Mer, cycle paths and bus routes lead directly to Royan’s beaches and town center. Right in the center of Royan, 10 minutes from the 4-star campsite, you’ll find the famous market that took part in the TF1 TV show and finished 2nd.
There are plenty of ideas for family activities in Royan, including water sports (jet skiing, boat cruises…), exceptional discoveries such as the famous church and beautiful seaside villas.

Close to the campsite, Royan is the main town on the Côte de Beauté. Royan is first and foremost one of the leading seaside resorts on France’s Atlantic coast, with five sandy beaches, a marina that can accommodate over 1,000 boats, and an active fishing port.
From the campsite, walk along the seafront to the port of Royan, where you’ll board a boat that will take you on a tour of the coastline as seen from the sea, from Talmont-sur-Gironde to La Palmyre, via the Cordouan lighthouse. There’s plenty to do on the water during your weekend in Royan.
The campsite is ideally located near the cycle path leading to Royan. Royan also boasts a casino, a Royan thalasso center and a museum. Camping des Deux Plages offers mobile home and pitch rentals near Royan.
During the summer months, coastal beaches are a popular place to relax. On the sands, you’ll find ephemeral sculpture competitions, concerts and festivals, where people gather at dusk.
After the Rêve d’Icare (Icarus’ Dream), which takes place in late May/early June, summer is full of color. The palette declines to the beautiful reds and blues of the fireworks displays on July 14th and August 15th. Particularly popular with the public, the August 15 pyrosymphonic show takes place on Royan beach.

Royan golf course
Just 5 minutes from the campsite you’ll find one of the finest golf courses in the south-west. The 18 holes of this remarkable course are laid out among pine trees, hugging the natural dunes. 18-hole course at Cordouan and 1 compact 6-hole course.

Royan equestrian center
Discover an equestrian center just 5 minutes from the campsite at Maine Gaudin.
All year round, the center offers you the chance to spend a pleasant moment with the horses in an extraordinary setting, right in the middle of the forest and close to the beach.
