The long coastlines and wonderful beaches of the department where the Saint-Palais-sur-Mer campsite is ideally located are ideal for lazing around and water sports, while seaside resorts such as Royan or Ronce-les-Bains near the campsite with water park are packed with festivals to keep you entertained all summer long. Visiting Charente-Maritime by bike, thanks to its many cycle paths, or by car is a pure pleasure from the Saint-Palais-sur-Mer campsite.

With its superbly preserved historical heritage, the Charentes has a real charm all of its own, and you’ll love wandering around the picturesque historic town centers of Talmont-sur-Gironde, Mornac-sur-Seudre or Cognac and its famous wine cellars. The region also boasts some of France’s finest museums. Such is the case of the Arsenal de la mer in Rochefort, where you can visit the famous Hermione ship, which we see sailing in the Gironde estuary opposite the campsite several times a year.

As for the Charente inland landscapes near the campsite, they are awe-inspiring for their biodiversity and offer pure moments of calm from the hustle and bustle of the seaside.
